Hematite |

Heliodor(Beryl), a yellow or golden yellow from of beryl, has always linked with the Sun. Gem-quality specimens are occasionally found, but more usually inclusions of fine, slender tubes are present, which are visible to the naked eye.

Occurrence |

Main deposits are in igneous rocks in North America (Lake Superior and Quebec), Brazil, Venezuela, and England. Iron roses are found in Switzerland and Brazil; cut table material in England, Germany, and Elba.

Powdered, it may be used as an artist's pigment or for polishing. In the past it was used to
protect the wearer from bleeding.
